The Most Common Injuries in Athletes
Are you an athlete? Then you are probably no stranger to those little aches and pains after your activities. Those little aches and pains can often lead to more serious injury, and it is important that you know the signs to take care of yourself before things escalate.
These are the most common injuries in athletes:
Tendon Pain such as Runner's & Jumper's Knee
Also known as tendonitis, you will feel some tightness in your knee after repeatedly doing actions such as jumping. This repeated action causes your tendons to weaken, leading them to be more prone to ripping or tearing.
Leg Ligament Issues such as MCL or ACL tears
See a pattern here? Serious athlete’s knees sustain most of the injuries. Complete tears and rips in the MCL or ACL could mean surgeries and long recovery times.
Arm Ligament Issues such as Tennis Elbow or Rotator Cuff Tears
These are other ailments that are caused by repeated actions. The main symptom is pain and can be neutralized by taking pain relievers and resting as needed.
